In the lead up to Easter weekend, we held an Easter bake-off to raise money for our chosen charity of the year The Welcome Centre.
The Welcome Centre is the largest food bank in Kirklees, and is relied upon by many across Huddersfield and the surrounding areas, with 4,000 people supported last year – a 37% increase from the following year.
The Bake Off brought out the 'Mary Berry' in colleagues across the office; here are the mouth-watering entries this year:
Day one – a fabulous Mini-egg cake from Kath, alongside some Tiffin kindly made by Alice
Day two – Steve from Sheards Wealth Management crafted theme yummy cupcakes
Day three – Zoe's Golden Balls surprise went down a treat across the office
Day four – last but not least, Carolyn's Chocolate Brownies and Amy's Lemon flapjack
The judging score sheets were collected and calculated, and these included taste, presentation and the wow factor! The results conclude that the winner is…
Zoe! Followed closely by Kath in second place – excellent effort from all involved!
Our Easter bake-off raised £52.50 over the week of baking, and across a number of fundraising activities, Sheards have raised a whopping £2175.20 so far in support of The Welcome Centre.
