Accounting packages are evolving rapidly, with cloud products becoming ever more popular, giving time savings and better and more up to date management information. Allied to that, HMRC are introducing Making Tax Digital (MTD) for VAT from April 2019, a change which will mean all VAT returns will need to be submitted from within accounting software.
With these 2 factors coming together, all businesses should be making steps to ensure they have the right accounting solution for their business. Is it MTD compliant, and does it help you run your business?
If you are a current Sage user then (assuming you wish to remain with Sage), you have 2 options:
- Stay on a desktop version of Sage. If this is your choice then you will need to ensure that you are on a version that is MTD compliant, or
- Move to Sage Business Cloud, a product that looks very much like the Sage you know well, but with cloud functionality such as bank feeds.
As a result of attending this session, you will gain a clearer understanding of whether the version of Sage you are using is compliant with MTD, but you will also have an opportunity to get an overview of Sage Business Cloud and assess whether this may be the best solution for you.
The session will be held on the morning of Friday 19 October at our office, starting at 8.30am. Please let us know how many places you would like to be reserved for you by signing up here.
Please be aware that unless you are using the most up to date version of Sage that you will not be MTD compliant, and you will find that you can no longer submit VAT returns from next April! Action is needed!
