The Directors at Sheards are supported by an experienced and enthusiastic team.

The firm has recently renewed it's Investors in People status, ensuring that partners and staff receive all their training and development needs to ensure our clients receive the best possible service.

Since achieving Investors in People status, the partners have been involved in management training which has been of great benefit not just to themselves but the team as a whole.

The training was so successful that Sheards was chosen by Business Link as as an example of how such training could be of benefit to small businesses.

Carolyn Atkinson FCA

Carolyn was appointed a partner in 1993, having trained with the Practice and qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1990.

Although dealing with a wide range of business types, Carolyn is proud of her specialism in working with doctors and pharmacists.

Carolyn finds relaxation in a visit to the gym, or spending time with her family.

Kevin Winterburn ACA

Kevin qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1996, having commenced his training with the firm six years previously.

Kevin acts in all areas of public practice, albeit becoming the firm's specialist in acting for non-profit making bodies.

He finds particular enjoyment in football, both playing the game and watching Huddersfield Town. He is married with two children.

Richard Lay ACA

Richard trained with the firm and qualified in 1990. After taking up a variety of positions in practice and industry, he rejoined the firm in 1999, becoming a partner in 2001.

Richard's particular strengths lie in corporate work and the installation and implementation of computerised accounting solutions.

Away from the office he enjoys cycling and spending time with his family.
